About me When
I was 7
years old I discovered my father's Kodak Instamatic camera tucked away
in a drawer and desperately wanted to use it. So my dad bought me some
film and a flash cube and I set about the house and the backyard taking
pictures of the trees, the cat, the couch, everything. When the photos
came back from Black's Photography, many of them had a Print No Charge sticker on them.
Some of my best photos (at least in my opinion) had been stigmatized
that way. So I carefully peeled the stickers off and
proudly place them in my photo album as if no one else would ever
notice they had technical difficulties. |
I eventually took a course in photography while in high school
where I learned about composition and lighting,
how to use a manual SLR camera as well as perform black & white
processing. I really enjoyed the class and afterwards tried to pursue
photography as a hobby. After entering university to study biology, my life quickly
became a lot busier with no time to pursue photography. Doing well in
school seemed more important than taking photos. But time passed and I
started to miss being creative.

About the site I set up this photoblog in February 2005 to get back into
photography. I felt it would be the ideal way for me to be creative on
a regular basis. Photoblogging also provides a way to
interact with and learn from other people who enjoy photography. Life
will always be busy so I've decided to make more time to foster my
creative side. |
